Bryanboy Was Here

Posted by on January 4, 2011 at 4:23 am

Bryanboy outside of the Harvard Lampoon.

This is certainly more exciting than seeing Pauly D in the square, if only for the clothes. Apparently Fashion 2.0′s greatest blogger, Bryanboy, recently graced our campus with his eminent ferocity. Swinging around the super-coveted Alexa Mulberry bag and all layered up in coop gear, he definitely gives us all no excuse to come back to campus looking like we usually do. Work it, Bryanboy. We <3 You!

Dear Readers,

If you subscribe to our RSS feed and you are seeing multiple duplicate posts, or if you are a regular visitor and have noticed that things are a bit wonky ’round these parts: we sincerely apologize. We’ve been having some server-related issues and in an effort to bring you back the Noice blog you know and love we have had to make a few changes. We apologize for being MIA. As a small student-run organization, hiccups happen sometimes and we’ll do our best to keep these at a minimum. Please bear with us as we get things back to normal. For any concerns, complaints, or suggestions you can reach us at admin@thehvoice.com.

Shaq in the Square

Posted by on October 21, 2010 at 11:28 pm

Who’s tall, plays for the Celtics, and was just sitting on a bench in Harvard Square?

SHAQUILLE O’FLIPPIN-NEAL.

As he promised, Shaq went into the Pit today and pretended to be a statue, refusing to talk “because he is a statue” and sitting with anyone able to fight the swarm to see him.

Sadly, I could not make it out to see him, but other members of our staff went to go get a seat with the basketball player (and also rap artist?).

Final Club Shenanijinks: Blindfolded Conga Dancing

Posted by on September 26, 2010 at 8:50 pm

Please excuse the "quality", if that word can be used, of this image (it was taken on a phone so old it still says Cingular on the outside).

The photo above, we assure you, is a large group of blindfolded final club punchees being led about outside of Leverett dining hall around the wee brainbreak hours. They were hands-to-hip adorable. Speculators have speculatively informed us that this rump-shakingly elitist conga line would be the would-be Phoenix lads.

While certainly rather kinky, we do wish we had a better photo to start the punch season with. If you have any Final Club Shenanijinks this punch season please email them to: thehvoicemail@gmail.com

Love,
The Voice

For your entertainment, a better image of young men walking in suits:

Panel on A.R.T.’s “Cabaret”: Amanda Palmer Should Get Tenure

Posted by on September 20, 2010 at 10:17 am

You know what we hate about panels? Sometimes “Open to the Public” gives a smelly, crazy vagrant the chance to pop a squat indoors. More mundanely though, speakers will deflect any and all questions, dropping a tangential bit of knowledge as a diversion, leaving the audience a little dissatisfied and confused. But you know what we love about panels? When rock stars get invited to talk. All of these things were present tonight at the Oberon for a panel discussion of the American Repertory Theater’s production of Cabaret with some strange bedfellows:

Shazam!

  • Homi Bhabha (a rock star, if the Humanities Center at Harvard had one… the man has written so many books)
  • Charles Maier (Harvard, Professor of History)
  • Carol Oja (Harvard, Professor of Music)
  • Martin Puchner (Harvard, Professor of English and Comparative Literature)
  • Amanda [Fucking] Palmer (Emcee in the ART’s Cabaret, and actual rockstar: The Dresden Dolls, Evelyn Evelyn)
