Freshman Parents Weekend

Rain or shine, the parents of the Class of 2015 could not be stopped this past weekend. They donned their awkward ponchos and powered through the megastorm on Friday, refusing to let the weather stop them from buying Harvard sweatshirts for everyone they know, taking embarrassing photos, lingering outside of dorms, and flaunting their red parent buttons proudly.
A few unofficial lists help to sum up the weekend:

Three typical awkward Parents Weekend moments:
- You are still drunk at Sunday morning breakfast.
- Your mom asks, “Does he have a girlfriend?” about every semi-attractive boy who walks by – and is still in earshot.
- You forget the name of the person you are introducing your parents to.
Three general categories of parents:
- The Alumni – You know them when you see them. They’ll make sure of it.
- The Proud Parent – Harvard sweatshirt. Camera always ready. Still can’t believe their kid actually got into Harvard.
- The Attendee – Map and notebook in hand, these parents attended every lecture and open house offered.
Three reasons we love Parents Weekend:
- A respite from Annenberg food
- An excuse to not study
- Just admit it – you missed them.
